19 Weeks

OUR SON IS ON THE WAY!

We are thrilled beyond explanation to announce that we are expecting a precious BOY! We found out on March 30th at exactly 18 weeks. It was such a special day for us. We drove to Summerville, South Carolina where we got to see our son moving around like crazy for over 30 minutes. We came home with over 120 photos and a full video of the entire session. We even had our own video camera set up to catch our reaction of the news. We even left with a teddy bear that plays your heart beat! 158 BPM...this proves that you can never pay attention to those crazy myths. Your heartbeat has been high the entire time.

We both knew you were a little boy ever since we found out we were expecting. We just had that feeling and never once second guessed it. Our ultrasound at 13 weeks had us almost 100% convinced of our prediction but we had to wait 5 more weeks until we could confirm. Your ultrasound pictures are so precious and already show your handsome looks will indeed take after your Daddy. We got to go home this passed weekend to tell all of your family in person (those who were there at least) and it was so funny to find out that every single one of them felt as if you were a boy also. We are all so ready to meet you and love on you!

God is so good! We have already started preparing your nursery and are trying to decide on your name. Your Daddy and I both like the same kind of names but can't seem to agree on the placement. It will come with time though.

We love you so much!

How far along? 19 weeks, 3 days
Total weight gain: ? Not sure...i'd say 6-7 lbs
Maternity clothes?  Of course!
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleeping well as long as I have my boppy pillow
Best moment this week: Finding your crib bedding that we have been searching so hard for and getting to share our news with all of the family this weekend at Easter.
Miss Anything? Still wish I could drink coffee. I try and take sips here and there but it makes me have the jitters and stomach hurt. It's crazy because I was so addicted to coffee before this pregnancy and never had any problems.
Movement: Love to feel you move. Started being able to tell where at in my stomach you are...that's pretty neat. You were wayyyy on the right side last night which was making it difficult to get comfortable in bed. I guess you are just preparing me for what's to come.
Food cravings: Soft serve ice cream. Well actually, it's really your Daddy's craving not mine but it is starting to rub off on me. We stopped on three different occasions this passed weekend to get soft serve ice cream cones and your Daddy bout went nuts trying to find soft serve chocolate...everyone seemed to only have vanilla which didn't help at all.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing at all.
Gender: BOYYYYYYYYY
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Having a little bit of back ache and what I think is Round Ligament Pain. Feels like I've overdone the abdominal crunches or something. I can't really describe it.
Belly Button in or out? Innie but I'm starting to think it will eventually become and outie. We'll see.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Oh so happy and ever so blessed.
Looking forward to: Painting your room and buying your furniture!

18 Weeks. What's your guess?

Week eighteen has been one of the most exciting weeks yet in our pregnancy. We got to find out if you are a precious baby boy or precious baby girl. We both didn't care either way and are so blessed to even be given the opportunity to be your parents. We are being selfish though and keeping you a secret until we come home to Florida this weekend where we can tell all of our family in person. Since we've had to spend mosts of our married lives away from home, it's always nice to relish the special milestones like this with the ones we care about most in person. It has been terribly hard having to keep our mouths shut this week but so very worth it! We are bursting at the seams to scream out our news though! Is it crazy that I am a little sad to almost be half way through already? I know I probably won't be saying that in the 3rd trimester but I am really loving this pregnancy so much and don't want it to go by too quickly.

This is me trying to act like i'm questioning what we're having :)

??????????????????????????????????

How far along? 18 weeks, 4 days
Total weight gain: 5 lbs
Maternity clothes?  Oh yes, but I refuse to buy a maternity bathing suit. Bought a regular one today that will cover up what it needs to. :)
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleeping pretty good. Can't decide which side I like sleeping on better. Most of the time I try sleeping on my left side since that's the position they say is healthiest for your breathing while you sleep.
Best moment this week: 18 weeks was a very special milestone in our pregnancy...we got to find out if you are a girl or boy! Such an amazing experience...can't wait to share.
Miss Anything?  Not a thing
Movement: Feeling you move more and more every day. You like to move most at night right after supper. Daddy thought he felt you move for the first time last night but we're still waiting on that real "kick" for him.
Food cravings: Nothing really special this week. Had the sudden urge to make homemade salsa and can't wait to make a home made pasta salad this weekend for Easter. Still craving sweets and candy. Made some dark chocolate cupcakes and dark chocolate icing that would make "your tongue slap your brains out"!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing at all.
Gender: We know and are so blessed. Can't wait to share with everyone this weekend! It's been a lot of fun keeping it a secret though.
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Same symptoms as last week really...been a little short of breath on a few occasions but thats just due to pressure being put on my lungs from all that growing and expanding in there. Absolutely loving the 2nd trimester. If it weren't for this expanding belly and baby movements, i'd have a hard time believing I was pregnant.
Belly Button in or out? Innie
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Oh so happy and ever so blessed.
Looking forward to: Seeing our family for Easter this weekend and sharing our wonderful and exciting news!!!!

Feeling you move!

This was a very special week in my pregnancy. First, I got to hear your beautiful heart beating once again. 155 BPM! Your heart rate has been fast this entire pregnancy. Not sure if I believe in the myths though ;)
I felt you move for the first time last Wednesday (March 21). I was sitting at my desk at work and felt three fast but very noticeable flutters. Now that I know what you feel like in there, I notice you moving all the time. I even pressed on my stomach the other night and felt you! So unbelievably amazing!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait for your Daddy to feel you move for the first time. So far, every time he tries and puts his hands on my belly you stop. These are the most happiest times of our lives. We can't wait to see you again this Friday!

How far along? 17 weeks, 3 days
Total weight gain: 3-4 lbs
Maternity clothes?  Yes. Finally got all of the clothes washed and put away. Still need to get a few items but truly blessed with what I have now.
Stretch marks? Not yet...I still have a feeling they're coming though. If heredity has anything to do with it I'm in for it!
Sleep: Sleeping ok. Been tossing and turning a lot lately. Can't seem to get comfortable. I know...I know...it's only going to get worse. I've been having some crazy dreams lately. Very vivid! Last night I dreamt that my friend Chris was taking me on this insane joy ride over the dames point bridge and had to be going 200 MPH. Who knows????
Best moment this week: Two wonderful moments this week: hearing your strong and fast heart beating again and feeling you officially move for the first time.
Miss Anything?  Not really. I am enjoying pregnancy so much.
Movement: Yes! Yes! Yes! Still trying to get Daddy to feel for the first time.
Food cravings: Still candy but that's slacked off a bit this week. I can tell my appetite is picking up though. I craved birthday cake so bad the other day. Not just any kind of birthday cake...chocolate with buttercream icing!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing at all.
Gender: ?????????? We'll know very very soon!
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Starting to actually "feel" pregnant, sleeping uncomfortably, belly is growing, boobs are still growing (not sure how much more they can grow haha), nose has been stuffy, can't seem to regulate my temperature while trying to seep, can't get it cold enough!
Belly Button in or out? Innie
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy...busy but very very happy.
Looking forward to: Finding out if you are a boy or girl!!!

4 Months!

This entry is somewhat short. My allergies are in full force this week. The pollen has been so terrible. We need about a week's worth of  torrential downpours in order to get rid of it all. Despite the allergies...I am enjoying this pregnancy so very much. Can't wait to see all of the family in a couple of weeks for Easter.

How far along? 16 weeks, 3 days
Total weight gain: Honestly, every time I step on the scale it says something different. I'll know for sure after my Dr. appointment tomorrow. I'd say 2-3 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Yes - thanks to Katie and others, I have enough maternity clothes for 3-4 pregnant ladies. So thankful. Old clothes are history as of right now. I just have to find a place to put everything.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleeping pretty good except for a couple of strange nightmares i've had this week. Must have a lot on my mind...
Best moment this week: Scheduling our appointment to find out if you're a boy or girl and getting to spend some much needed time with your Aunt Kaite and cousin Tyler.
Miss Anything? Missing my brother so much already. He deployed overseas this week. Counting down the days till he is home. Can't wait for our precious baby to meet Uncle Davo.
Movement: I think i'm occasionally feeling small flutters here and there. Can't wait till I actually feel that big "kick" for the first time. Also can't wait for Daddy to be able to feel you too!
Food cravings: Candy. Candy. and More Candy. I used to be pretty good with moderation...not anymore. I can't get enough candy. Especially all things cinnamon, gummy or sour.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Seeing a real human black lung this weekend at Body Worlds with Katie made me sick to my stomach. It was the strangest thing because I am not easily grossed out.
Gender: We have our gender appointment scheduled. We're making a special day of it. Can't wait to see our baby again.
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Still feeling very good. The pollen has decided to wreck havoc on my allergies this week so I have been battling a very stuffy nose and sore throat. I refuse to take anything for it unless absolutely necessary so i've been drinking tons of fluids and sleeping with the humidifier. I've heard sleeping with w humidifier is a good thing to do even when your not sick. Its supposed to help with your breathing while pregnant, keeps the temperature nice and cool, and moisturizes your skin also which is good for trying to prevent stretch marks.
Belly Button in or out? Innie
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
Looking forward to:  Doctor's appointment tomorrow (Daddy can't come because he's having some much needed fun doing what he loves to do...hunt), Getting all of these maternity clothes organized and finally getting some relief from these allergies.

Our little naval orange

Hello crazy emotions and extreme sensitivity! I'm not sure where you came from, but you definitely made your appearance known this week. The sensitivity is quite hilarious because normally it takes a lot for things to get to me. People need to be careful with what they say or how they act around this hormonal Mama! Seriously though, we're thankful for the not so glamorous moments of this pregnancy just as much as the glamorous ones. It makes me feel like things are right on track if that makes sense. We're anxiously awaiting the first time we feel you move. I must put my hands on my stomach 50 times a day or more trying to feel you in there. From the way you were moving in our last ultrasound I should have felt you 3 weeks ago! :) Your Daddy gets all nervous when I touch my stomach saying "leave the baby alone in there". He's overly protective already. I've been trying to warn all of the family in advance.

How far along? 15 weeks, 2 days
Total weight gain: i'd say about 1 1/2 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Just a pair of jeans and one top so far. Much more comfortable than trying to suffer through regular clothes. I need to get some more work pants. I am all about comfort these days.
Stretch marks? Not yet...I am currently in love with my Nivea lotion.
Sleep: Sleeping well. Randy wishes he had a pregnancy pillow. He steals mine whenever he can.
Best moment this week: Putting on those marvelous maternity jeans for the first time...so comfortable and such a relief.
Miss Anything? Missing all of the family this week...yet another side effect of these crazy 15 week emotions.
Movement: Thought I felt a small flutter the other night but i'm not counting it as movement. Anxiously waiting though...
Food cravings: My weird cinnamon fixation is still in full swing. I thought I would try out something else besides Big Red gum and Altoids and bought a bag of cinnamon Jolly Ranchers...big mistake. Yuck! A couple of other things I've just had to have is BBQ fritos and raisin bread.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No, still blessed.
Gender: Just a couple more weeks till we find out...your Daddy can hardly wait another second.
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Feeling great and still can't complain. Crazy emotions and heightened sensitivity kicked in this week but we're even cherishing the not so pretty moments of this pregnancy. Makes it feel more "real". Poor Randy, though. He's being such a trooper dealing with the roller coaster of emotions. Most of the time he starts laughing right in the middle of them which makes me laugh back and feel much better.
Belly Button in or out? Innie
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Both!
Looking forward to: Being able to buy baby stuff. We're holding off until we find out if you're a boy or girl. Lord help us once we do find out. You're going to be showered with love.

POP

They say some women go from not really noticing any change as far as her belly goes one week, to her stomach literally popping out over night...I think that's what mine did this week. I had one pair of regular pants I could still wear, button, and zip. Not anymore without feeling miserable.

We are completely fascinated with all of the changes taking place daily. Every day there's something new. Randy and I can't get enough of our baby already.

How far along? 14 weeks, 2 days
Total weight gain: 1 lb.
Maternity clothes? This week I will probably start wearing maternity pants. I don’t really like the bellyband.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleep is good. I have finally stopped getting up 5 times in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. I've heard that it will come back in the 3rd trimester though so I am enjoying it while it lasts.
Best moment this week: Purchasing my first set of diapers and wipes. I figured if I start buying packs every time I have coupons and see a good deal going I’ll be set come end of August.
Miss Anything? I miss my addiction to coffee. I still love the smell and crave a cup every single morning, but whenever I go to pour a cup I’m completely turned off.
Movement: Not yet
Food cravings: I started waking up very hungry for the first time this week. Everyone who knows me well knows that I am not a morning person let alone someone who's ready to eat as soon as I wake up. Now, I have to eat a bowl of cereal or oatmeal, as I'm getting ready for work. I've been craving all things cinnamon this week...can't get enough cinnamon Altoids and have Dad on a mission for Red Hots since I can't seem to find them anywhere up here.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing
Gender: We don't know yet but have a feeling. ;)
Labor Signs: No, praise God.
Symptoms: Feeling really good!
Belly Button in or out? Innie
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Depends on the minute of the day. :)
Looking forward to: Warmer weather, getting out in the sun, working in our yard, spring flowers.
